Invest in your skin! Online marketing can make you feel like you need many products that you may not actually need.
My advice is, if you have healthy skin and you’re satisfied with the products you’re using, continue with them.
The basic skincare regimen consists of 3 components.
Cleansing: The aim is to remove dirt, sweat, makeup residue, and sebum from the skin. There are various forms of cleansing products on the market (soap and syndet, gel, foam, cream, balm, milk, micellar water). The choice of the appropriate product for your skin type (normal, dry, combination, oily) should be based on a dermatologist’s evaluation.
Moisturizing: Moisturizer selection is an important step to protect the skin barrier. Choosing the right one is crucial. Otherwise, it can lead to irritation (burning, stinging, redness), clogged pores, acne, and excessive oiliness.
Using Sunscreen: It is essential to protect against premature aging and skin cancer.
In cases where additional issues are identified through dermatological examination, such as acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, and photoaging, products containing ‘active ingredients’ (such as AHAs like glycolic acid, mandelic acid, lactic acid, BHAs like salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, retinol, ascorbic acid, niacinamide, etc.) are included in the skincare routine.
The concentration of ‘active ingredients’ in products is crucial, and they should be used only under dermatologist’s recommendation.
